A quick video tour of the downtown Haiku restaurants and grocery stores.
Aloha Aina Center:
Located at 810 Kokomo Road, on the west side of town is this refurbished old cannery, which houses restaurants, a gym, fitness and retail shops. Here you’ll find King’s Chinese Barbecue and Veg Out which serve local favorites and vegetarian meals. Nuka Japanese restaurant is located in a stand alone building next to the Haiku Post Office, now open for lunch and dinner and they’re fully licensed.
Haiku Marketplace:
Located at 810 Haiku Road, at the intersection of Haiku Road and Kokomo Road, and across from the Aloha Aina Center. Another former pineapple cannery with a new purpose. Colleen’s is the anchor restaurant here, where you can eat breakfast lunch and dinner every day with full service including alcohol. Well known for their pizza and freshly baked goods. The food truck scene in the parking lot is sure to please anyone, with Island Tacos, North & South Indian Cuisine, Mediterranean Grill, and Bailey’s Cafe. They have nice patio areas with umbrella tables and chairs so you can eat al fresco even on a rainy day.
Grocery Stores:
- Fukushima Store, a classic in the area, famous for their red hot dogs and other hot and cold snacks. They’re just opposite the Marketplace on Haiku Rd.
- Haiku Market offers a wide variety of ready to eat snack foods and is well known for their selection of poke, which is a local favorite at the end of the work day.
Come on over to Haiku town and enjoy your stay:
Whatever the time of day, you’ll find some good food and a place to sit and relax.
