The following has been copied from a bulletin sent out to all Maui Realtors.
There will be a Public Information Meeting Regarding Phase-Out of Short Term Rental Homes (STRH). Plan on attending, use the form on this page to submit an email, and get your opinion on the record!

located at 250 South High Street, Wailuku, 96793
The Planning Department is in the process of crafting legislation that would repeal the STRH ordinance and stop the renewal of STRH permits in the future. They are currently soliciting public input on this proposal, and I want your voice to be heard! It is important that ALL OF US make an effort to attend this meeting in person and send in testimony opposing this plan to undo good legislation that is working for the County. A blanket prohibition on STRHs will not stop the problem of illegal vacation rentals, but it will punish those who have been complying with the law and strip the State and County of significant revenue.
We are encouraging everyone to attend this meeting and let their voices be heard, but it is particularly important for those who benefit from this industry to be present. Property managers, housekeepers, landscapers, arborists, maintenance workers, shopkeepers and anyone else who stands to be harmed by an STRH prohibition need to be notified that their economic interests are at risk! Reach out to your networks and tell people to speak out against a Phase-Out.
