Haiku’s Door of Faith Road can be found near the start of the famous Road to Hana, along Maui’s north shore. It’s a less populated part of this island, and it’s very sustainable. The road winds down from the highway, and heads toward the ocean, to Waipio Bay. A side road turns east, and overlooks Hanawana Bay. This part of the coastline offers steep rugged cliffs, deep gorges carved by streams, and a lush jungle landscape. The location is just a little off the beaten path, but nothing too rugged that you’d need a 4 wheel drive. The airport is about 45 minutes away, and what a great drive that is.
180 Door of Faith Road is an exceptionally beautiful property, with a hand-crafted house and cottage on over 2 acres, offering extreme privacy and expansive views, set amid a lush tropical environment. The terrain gives the feeling of being perched above the ocean, with sweeping views across the stream valley to the distant cliffs. It’s easy to imagine this is the end of the world, and it is in a sense. Living on the edge never looked so good.
If you appreciate exquisite wood work and craftsmanship, you can appreciate all the love that went into these homes. Like a work of art. Exotic local woods have been lovingly incorporated into the buildings, creating warmth and a cozy ambience. Natural beauty is everywhere to be seen here, outside and inside.
I won’t go into much detail as it’s not my listing but you can link to the MLS info. It was listed about 5 years ago when I saw it and took some pictures, and it sold in January of 2017 for just under $4,000,000. That’s quite a price hike in 3 1/2 years and I have to wonder what kind of improvements were done to justify such an extreme new price. Is it worth it? Depends who’s buying I guess. Can you put a price on complete and wonderful privacy?
